What is a transistor?

Transistor is a device used for amplification of the signal. It can be any type of signal video signal, audio signal.

There are two types of the transistors they are PNP AND NPN.
Three terminals named:-
Emitter
Base
Collector
Transistor is made of  two junctions . There are three types of configurations in transistors
Common base configuration
Common collector configuration
Common emitter configuration

NPN TRANSISTOR:-
In   Npn transistor the base is p type and collector , emitter , are n type.

PNP TRANSISTOR:-

IN COMMON BASE CONFIGURATION (CB):-
We give input at the base and emitter side and we take amplified output at the base and collector.
Here base is common between the collector and emitter so it is called common base configuration.

IN COMMON COLLECTOR CONFIGURATION:-
We give input at the base and collector terminal and take the amplified output at the collector and emitter side
IN COMMON EMITTER CONFIGURATION:-
In common emitter configuration input is given at the base side and output is taken across the collector side
