Pn junction diode is junction between the P-type material and N-type material.

P type material is made by adding trivalent impurities to the sibstrate.

N type material is made by adding the pentavalent impurities to the p type substrate.

depletion layer is formed between the p and n type junction .In N type material electrons are the major amd In P type material joles are the major and vice versa.
